Right-hander Gregory Santos has declined an outright assignment to Triple-A Sacramento and will become a free agent after going unclaimed on waivers. The 27-year-old, who returned to the Giants organization this offseason, pitched five innings in the majors this year with a 3.60 ERA, but struggled in Triple-A with a 6.89 ERA. Santos, who has faced multiple injuries throughout his career, notably had a strong 2023 season with the White Sox before subsequent health issues affected his performance. Several clubs have already shown interest in signing him as a minor league free agent.
