The Seattle Mariners have placed center fielder Julio Rodríguez on the 7-day concussion IL after he was hit in the back of the head by a thrown ball during a game against the Los Angeles Angels. Although he initially continued playing, he experienced light-headedness and was removed in the third inning. Utility player Miles Mastrobuoni has been called up to replace him, while RHP Cooper Criswell has been transferred to the 60-day IL with a shoulder strain. Injured outfielders Randy Arozarena and Victor Robles will continue to play, with Robles taking over center field duties during Rodríguez’s absence.
