The Texas Rangers have selected right-hander Ben Peoples to their active roster, optioning Winston Santos to Triple-A Round Rock. Peoples, acquired from the White Sox, brings strikeout potential despite control issues, having posted a 2.39 ERA in Triple-A this year. The Rangers also signed infielder Santiago Espinal and righty Austin Voth to minor league deals for additional depth amid injuries. Espinal offers utility with solid defensive skills, while Voth provides a potential spot-start option in the rotation.
