The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the sale of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to an Aditya Birla-led consortium for USD 1.78 billion, with the deal pending final approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The franchise, set to be operated under Big Banyan Holdings, has recently won consecutive IPL titles and plans to retain Virat Kohli, while also seeing success with their women’s team. Pending BCCI’s approval, the Aditya Birla-led group will become the new owners of RCB, one of the IPL’s most successful and valuable franchises.
