Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet has decided to exercise his $25 million option for the 2026-27 season. After missing the entire previous season due to a torn ACL in his right knee, he is expected to be healthy for the upcoming season. VanVleet previously opted out last season to extend his contract and decrease his cap hit but has opted in this time. In his two healthy seasons with the Rockets, he averaged 15.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
