Bobby Witt Jr., the Kansas City Royals’ All-Star shortstop, has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, according to manager Matt Quatraro. He will miss the game on June 19 against the St. Louis Cardinals and will be reevaluated on Sunday. Witt, who leads the majors with 28 stolen bases, was injured while fielding on June 18 but managed to continue playing before being removed from the game. The Royals, with a 31-45 record, may consider an injured list stint for Witt.
