The Houston Astros have placed LaMonte Wade Jr. on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain, shortly after signing him to enhance their left-handed offensive options. In his first four games with the team, Wade recorded four hits, including a homer and two doubles, before injuring himself while running the bases. Astros manager Joe Espada noted that Wade’s prognosis is not encouraging, while Joey Loperfido has been recalled from Triple-A to take his place. Wade, a versatile player with a career batting average of .236, was contributing positively before the injury.
