Nick Kurtz comes so close to history
Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz was on the verge of breaking the all-time MLB record for consecutive games with a walk, having tied Barry Bonds’ mark at 20 games. He needed just two more walks to surpass Roy Cullenbine’s 22-game record set in 1947. However, Kurtz’s streak ended during Saturday’s 14-6 loss, as he failed to draw a walk for the first time since April 9th. This close call highlights his impressive performance this season.
