The Mets and Rockies play a doubleheader at Citi Field on Sunday, but before the games began, manager Carlos Mendoza provided a few updates…
Brett Baty being aggressive
Brett Baty is showing improvement after a slow start, hitting .375 with a home run over his last seven games. Mendoza noted Baty’s aggressive approach at the plate and better pitch selection. He will play third base in the first game, with Bo Bichette shifting to shortstop.
Jorge Polanco update
Jorge Polanco, on the IL with wrist and Achilles soreness, is making progress, engaging in running and hitting activities. Mendoza confirmed that while the wrist remains an issue, Polanco is advancing in his recovery since being placed on the IL on April 18.
