Every year, the NHL Players’ Association conducts a poll among players, and this time, several Pittsburgh Penguins were highlighted. Sidney Crosby was chosen as the top player likely to become a great coach post-retirement and ranked third for forwards who could excel as defensemen. Erik Karlsson was noted as the third-best defenseman suited to play forward, while Kris Letang had the third-most intense training regimen, following Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid. Additionally, the Penguins-Flyers rivalry was voted the NHL’s third-best, just behind classic rivalries involving the Canadiens and Maple Leafs, and the Canadiens and Bruins.
