Joe Flacco, now 41 and returning to the Bengals for his 18th NFL season, expresses concerns about the potential extension of the regular season to 20 or even 22 games due to owners’ profit motives. He believes this could compromise player health and the overall quality of playoffs, as teams may struggle to perform at their best after a longer season. Flacco acknowledges that players will likely adapt to the longer schedule for increased revenue, but he reminisces about the competitive balance of the previous 16-game format.
