Cincinnati Reds pitcher Nick Lodolo’s rehab outing was cut short after he exited the game with a sore index finger, following a blister that had previously sidelined him. Despite a strong start, retiring the first eight batters with four strikeouts, he left after 40 pitches. Lodolo’s return to the major league is uncertain, coinciding with ace Hunter Greene’s recovery from elbow surgery, expected to keep him out until July. Manager Terry Francona had hoped Lodolo would debut during the Reds’ series against the Marlins.
