ROME (AP) — Italy’s soccer federation president Gabriele Gravina resigned under political pressure after the national team, the Azzurri, failed to qualify for a third consecutive World Cup, following a loss to Bosnia in a playoff. Sports Minister Andrea Abodi called for new leadership, likely leading to the dismissal of coach Gennaro Gattuso. The federation will elect a new president on June 22, as Italy prepares for the 2032 European Championship co-hosted with Turkey. Gravina, also a UEFA vice president, remains in that role unless the new FIGC leadership demands his exit.
