Pittsburgh eighth-grader Otto Schellhammer held the last perfect bracket in March Madness until the Sweet 16 when No. 6 seed Notre Dame defeated second-seeded Vanderbilt, concluding his streak among over 40 million entries. Despite his success, Otto attributed it to “100% luck,” as he admitted to knowing little about basketball. His mother, Amy, found the situation “absolutely hilarious,” and he remains hopeful with Texas winning the title in his bracket. There were approximately 36 million entries for the men’s tournament and 5.2 million for the women’s.
