The Washington Nationals demoted outfielder Dylan Crews to Triple-A Rochester following a disappointing spring training where he hit 3-for-29 with no home runs and 11 strikeouts. Selected second overall in the 2023 draft, Crews was the team’s top prospect but has faced injuries, posting 13 home runs and a .634 OPS in 116 games since his 2024 debut. Additionally, right-hander Jackson Rutledge, previously ranked as high as No. 11 among the club’s prospects, was also optioned.
