Josh Hader
of the Houston Astros will start the season on the injured list due to biceps tendinitis, having missed most of Spring Training. Previously, he spent the last two months of the 2025 season recovering from a shoulder capsule strain. After recently throwing a bullpen session, his velocity reached 87 MPH, significantly lower than his usual 95.5 MPH. In his absence, Bryan Abreu will serve as the interim closer, with other pitchers expected to fill open bullpen roles.
