Aston Martin’s team principal Adrian Newey has expressed concerns that drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll may suffer permanent nerve damage due to vibrations from the team’s Honda power unit during the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Both drivers have indicated they can only manage limited laps before risking injury, with Alonso at 25 laps and Stroll at 15. Despite a challenging preseason and reliability issues, Newey believes the AMR26 car has the potential to compete effectively in the future. Alonso remains optimistic that recent fixes could improve performance ahead of practice in Melbourne.
