Major League Baseball has announced that the Spring Breakout series will evolve into a tournament format in 2027 and 2028, with single-elimination champions in both the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues. This change follows previous exhibition games featuring top prospects, allowing fans a direct glimpse of emerging talent. The 2026 Spring Breakout will occur from March 19th to 22nd, without the tournament format, with full rosters announced on March 5th. This initiative aims to enhance competitive atmosphere and fan engagement.
