The Detroit Lions have traded veteran running back David Montgomery to the Houston Texans, as reported by Tom Pelissero. The Texans will send a fourth-round pick, a seventh-round pick, and offensive lineman Juice Scruggs to the Lions in return, which is considered a significant haul for a running back. Montgomery, who had a reduced role last season, was originally drafted by the Bears and later signed a three-year deal with the Lions. In 2025, he rushed for 716 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 192 receiving yards.
