Xavier Isaac, a top prospect for the Rays, returned to the field after brain surgery last year, marking his first game back with a single in the eighth inning despite the team’s 12-3 loss to the Tigers. His teammates celebrated the moment, and Rays manager Kevin Cash emphasized the special significance of Isaac’s achievement. Isaac, who underwent life-saving surgery to remove a brain tumor in July 2025, expressed relief at being back in the game. He is now training with the Rays as a non-roster invitee, aiming to bounce back from a challenging season linked to his health issues.
