CC Sabathia’s No. 52 will be retired by the New York Yankees on Sept. 26, 2023, with a plaque dedication at Monument Park before a game against the Baltimore Orioles. He becomes the 24th player to receive this honor, following Paul O’Neill’s No. 21 retirement in 2022. A six-time All-Star and 2007 AL Cy Young Award winner, Sabathia boasted a 251-161 career record, including 134-88 with the Yankees. He was elected to the Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 2025.
