The Raiders have appointed Klint Kubiak as their new defensive coordinator, promoting Rob Leonard from within the organization instead of hiring Jim Schwartz. Leonard, who has been with the Raiders for three seasons as the defensive line coach, has 16 years of coaching experience, including 13 in the NFL. His close working relationship with Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby may influence Crosby’s decision to remain with the team. Leonard’s previous coaching roles include stints with the Giants, Dolphins, and Ravens.
