BORMIO, Italy (AP) — Brazilian ski racer Lucas Pinheiro Braathen leads the Olympic giant slalom after the first of two runs, positioning himself to potentially secure South America’s first medal at a Winter Games. He finished with a time of 1 minute, 13.92 seconds, holding a 0.95-second advantage over defending Olympic champion Marco Odermatt. The final run will take place later Saturday, with 81 competitors in total. Pinheiro Braathen will race last, at No. 30, in reverse order based on times.
