Yankees trade for infielder Max Schuemann from A’s

The Yankees acquired infielder Max Schuemann from the Athletics for rookie-ball right-hander Luis Burgos, enhancing their depth ahead of spring training. Schuemann, 28, primarily a shortstop, has played multiple positions and recorded a .212 batting average with 21 steals in 234 games over two seasons.
