Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, a gold medalist and industrial engineering graduate, begins her role as CEO of the U.S. Center for SafeSport, aiming to address the organization’s challenges in combating sex abuse in Olympic sports. With a history of improving performance in sports organizations, she plans to review current practices, focusing on grassroots athlete safety and implementing strategic changes. Fitzgerald Mosley acknowledges the center’s struggles with over 8,000 reports in 2024 and intends to gather feedback for improvement. Supported by a third-party agency, she aims to create a comprehensive plan to enhance the organization’s effectiveness and culture.
