The NFL Honors ceremony will debut the Protector of the Year award, recognizing the best offensive lineman of the 2025 season, with Detroit Lions right tackle Penei Sewell among the finalists. Other contenders include Garett Bolles, Quinn Meinerz, Joe Thuney, Aaron Brewer, and Creed Humphrey. Sewell has been named First-Team All Pro for the third consecutive year and has the highest PFF run-blocking grade among right tackles in the past five years. The award will be presented on February 5, with Aidan Hutchinson also nominated for Defensive Player and Comeback Player of the Year.
