Mike McDaniel has been hired by the Los Angeles Chargers as their new offensive coordinator, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic. McDaniel, who previously served as head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2022 to 2025, had a record of 35-33 during his tenure and led the team to two playoff appearances. He withdrew from consideration for other head coaching positions with the Raiders, Browns, and Bills before accepting the OC role with the Chargers for the 2026 season. McDaniel, 42, has a diverse coaching background, including stints with the Broncos, Texans, and 49ers before joining Miami.
