Mets interested in Tucker for short-term deal

The New York Mets are actively pursuing four-time All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker, preferring a shorter-term deal with a higher average annual value. Tucker, who has primarily played right field, fits well into the Mets’ lineup following the trade of Brandon Nimmo and the departure of Pete Alonso. Main competitors for Tucker include the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers, with the Orioles and Yankees also showing interest. Tucker boasts a strong career batting average and has been a consistent performer since 2018.
