Spencer Howard Signs With Yomiuri Giants in NPB

Right-hander Spencer Howard is signing with the Yomiuri Giants in Nippon Professional Baseball after a season with the Rakuten Eagles, where he posted a 2.22 ERA in nine starts. The 29-year-old, once a top prospect in the Phillies’ organization, has struggled with injuries throughout his MLB career, resulting in an 8.37 ERA over 21 appearances with Texas and a cumulative 7.00 ERA across 144 MLB innings. This marks the Giants’ second foreign signing in recent days, following the addition of Bobby Dalbec.
