The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded outfielder Esteury Ruiz to the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor-league pitcher Adriano Marrero. Ruiz, a former top prospect, has played 197 MLB games over four seasons, leading the American League with 67 steals in 2023 but struggling defensively with a minus-25 defensive runs saved. Marrero, 18, posted a 3.82 ERA and 9.5 K/9 in 10 starts for the Marlins’ Dominican Summer League team. Miami also recently traded outfielder Dane Myers to the Cincinnati Reds and signed closer Pete Fairbanks.
