The Houston Rockets have received a $12.5 million Disabled Players Exception for Fred VanVleet, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear in September. Despite being linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo in the offseason prior to trading for Kevin Durant, the Rockets are not expected to pursue him this season. VanVleet re-signed with the Rockets on a two-year, $50 million deal, which includes a player option for the 2026-27 season. Houston remains hard-capped at the first apron.
