The New York Yankees are reportedly interested in reuniting with free-agent right-hander Michael King, who is also being pursued by the Orioles and Red Sox. King, 30, was traded to the Padres in December 2023 as part of a deal for Juan Soto and Trent Grisham, and he has since excelled as a starter, boasting an 18-12 record with a 3.10 ERA in 2024-25. Yankees manager Aaron Boone praised King’s pitching abilities during the 2025 MLB Winter Meetings, while GM Brian Cashman mentioned they are exploring various options. King, originally drafted by the Marlins, debuted with the Yankees in 2019 and transitioned from reliever to starter during his five seasons in New York.
