Veteran pitcher Merrill Kelly has agreed to return to the Arizona Diamondbacks on a two-year, $40 million contract. The Scottsdale native had a successful season, finishing with a 12-9 record and a 3.52 ERA, and was a key player in the Diamondbacks’ World Series run in 2023. Despite not debuting until age 30, Kelly has established a solid MLB career, previously playing in South Korea before joining the Diamondbacks in 2018. His return was anticipated, given his local ties and previous contributions to the team.
