The Texas Rangers have signed catcher Danny Jansen to a two-year, $14.5 million contract, replacing Jonah Heim and sharing duties with Kyle Higashioka. Jansen, 30, had a .215/.321/.399 batting line with 14 home runs last season, ranking in the 98th percentile for blocking but struggling with framing. The Rangers also added relievers Alexis Díaz, a former All-Star closer, and Tyler Alexander to one-year deals.
