Pete Alonso has become the New York Mets’ all-time home run king, hitting his 253rd and 254th home runs during a 13-5 victory over the Atlanta Braves, surpassing Darryl Strawberry’s previous record of 252. In a pre-game ceremony, the Mets honored Alonso with a custom painting created from 253 baseballs, depicting his iconic home-run trot.
