The Yankees lost 4-3 to the Red Sox in the second game of their series, with Carlos Rodon allowing four runs over five-plus innings, including a throwing error from Anthony Volpe that led to an early run. The Yankees’ offense, stifled by rookie Hunter Dobbins for most of the game, managed two runs in the seventh but fell short in the ninth despite a late rally, ending the game with Jasson Dominguez and Austin Wells at the plate. The series concludes on Sunday with Max Fried starting for New York against Boston’s Brayan Bello.
