The New England Patriots signed receiver Stefon Diggs to a complex three-year, $69 million contract with $26 million guaranteed, but he is entitled to nothing until he passes a full physical due to a torn ACL. The contract includes provisions that allow the team to withhold payments if Diggs fails the physical or if an injury related to a pre-existing condition is determined by the team’s physician. Consequently, the Patriots may only have paid Diggs $4 million, with the potential to void the entire contract if he does not clear the physical by 2025.
