Colorado Rockies first baseman Michael Toglia was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque after struggling this season, hitting only .125 in his last 40 at-bats and leading the majors with 81 strikeouts in 186 at-bats. Interim manager Warren Schaeffer stated that Toglia needs to improve his offensive control and expressed future expectations for him. To fill Toglia’s spot, the Rockies selected infielder Keston Hiura from Albuquerque while designating Aaron Schunk for assignment.
