The San Francisco 49ers have announced the release of punter Mitch Wishnowsky and linebacker DaShaun White. These roster moves are intended to make space for punter Thomas Morstead and linebacker Chazz Surratt, both former players for the Jets. Wishnowsky, who has been with the 49ers since 2019 and was in the final year of a four-year rookie contract, averaged 45.2 yards on 22 punts in 2024, with no touchbacks and 11 inside the 20-yard line.
