Seattle Mariners’ right-hander George Kirby is set to make his season debut against the Houston Astros after recovering from shoulder inflammation that placed him on the injured list since March 24. Kirby, who was an AL All-Star in 2023 and started 31 games last season, aims to strengthen the Mariners’ rotation, which currently lacks opening day starter Logan Gilbert due to a forearm injury. Manager Dan Wilson noted Kirby would likely be limited to 75-80 pitches in his return, while the team has also recalled Jesse Hahn from Triple-A Tacoma.
