The Braves have signed left-hander Austin Cox to a Major League contract and assigned him to Triple-A Gwinnett after he was released by the Royals. Cox, a fifth-round pick in 2018, had a 4.54 ERA over 35 2/3 innings with Kansas City in 2023 and faced challenges due to an ACL injury but showed improvement in his secondary metrics. The Braves, leveraging Cox’s Georgia roots, hope to utilize him in their bullpen alongside left-handers Dylan Lee and Aaron Bummer.
