New York Giants rookie pass-rusher Abdul Carter is still trying to secure a jersey number for his NFL debut. After Lawrence Taylor declined to unretire No. 56, Carter aimed for No. 11, which is also retired in honor of former QB Phil Simms. Although Simms initially considered allowing Carter to wear his number, his family ultimately decided against it, prompting Carter to humorously suggest he might just wear his last name on his jersey instead.
