Zach Kleiman Says Grizzlies Should Have Picked Up Jake LaRavia's Option

During his postseason media availability, Memphis Grizzlies front office executive Zach Kleiman acknowledged a mistake in not picking up forward Jake LaRavia’s 2025-26 rookie scale team option, which led to LaRavia’s trade. Kleiman expressed regret, stating that LaRavia could have contributed significantly during the season’s end, but he believed Vince Williams Jr. and GG Jackson would be ready to fill in. Following the decision, LaRavia is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer after playing with the Sacramento Kings, with salary restrictions carrying over due to the option decline.
