The Kings are preparing for their first-round matchup against the Edmonton Oilers but will be without forward Tanner Jeannot, who is out week-to-week due to an ankle injury sustained on March 25. Jeannot, who scored seven goals and 13 points this season while contributing significant physicality with 211 hits, has not begun skating and is not expected to return for the playoffs. In his absence, rookie center Samuel Helenius and depth winger Jeff Malott have stepped up, with Helenius contributing seven points in 50 games and Malott adding one assist in 12 NHL contests.
