Taj Gibson has officially retired from his playing career and has joined the Chicago Bulls as an assistant coach under Tiago Splitter. He was recently waived by the New Orleans Pelicans after being traded from the Memphis Grizzlies, where he signed a multi-year contract in February. During his age-40 season, Gibson played in 10 games with the Grizzlies, averaging 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game.
