MONTREAL (AP) — Chris Kreider signed a contract with the Montreal Canadiens after mutually terminating his deal with the Anaheim Ducks. The 35-year-old winger, originally from Massachusetts, sought to return to the Eastern Conference to be closer to family after a season in California. Kreider joins a young Canadiens team that recently reached the East final before losing to Carolina, despite facing hostility from fans due to a past playoff incident with Carey Price.
