The Boston University Terriers have appointed former player Matt Gilroy as their director of player development for the 2026-27 season. Gilroy, who played at BU from 2005 to 2009 and won the Hobey Baker Award, had a journeyman NHL career with teams like the Rangers and Lightning before playing in the KHL and Switzerland. He transitioned to coaching, assisting with the U.S. NTDP and Harvard University. Gilroy will now guide the development of new recruits Caleb Malhotra, Xavier Villeneuve, and Carter Meyer at Walter Brown Arena.
