Kirk Cousins and the Raiders’ first-team offense surprised fans by starting in the final preseason game against the 49ers. Cousins completed 8-of-11 passes for 51 yards, leading to two field goals by Matt Gay. With starting running back Ashton Jeanty sidelined by an ankle injury, Mike Washington excelled with eight carries for 49 yards. Cousins exited the game with 56 seconds left in the first quarter, leaving other starters on the field with Fernando Mendoza.
