The NFL and NFL Players Association have implemented a new player safety system that imposes a suspension for players who violate specific rules three times within a year. The rules include hip-drop tackles, horse-collar tackles, launching, hits on defenseless players, and blindside blocks, with suspensions applying only to violations of the same rule. Recently informed by the NFLPA, players learned that one would have faced suspension in 2024 and another in 2025 under this system.
