Amar’e Stoudemire, recently inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, was a standout high school player who successfully transitioned to the NBA, being selected ninth overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2002 Draft. He won the 2002-03 NBA Rookie of the Year and thrived under Mike D’Antoni’s system, averaging 21.4 points and 8.3 rebounds in his first eight seasons. Stoudemire later signed a lucrative contract with the New York Knicks and concluded his 14-year career (2002-2016) with averages of 18.9 points and 7.8 rebounds, alongside six All-Star selections.
